Nottingham: Facts and Fiction - Graham Woodward

Graham Woodward from Nottingham Civic Society will be providing a talk entitled "Nottingham: Facts and Fiction" and will be revealing the truth about many old myths surrounding the city.

February 9th

Derby Sketching Club: From 1889 to the Present Day - Chris Jones

Discover the history of the Derby Sketching Club, from its first exhibition in 1889 through to the present day, including some of the famous artists connected with Derby.

March 9th

The Liversage Trust: £3 Million Restoration Begins on Derby's 190 Year Old Almshouses - Louise Jones & Andy Mellors

Hear about the ambitious restoration of one of Derby’s historic landmarks and the work taking place to preserve it for future generations.

ABCD Awards and The David Ling Award

Our "A Brighter City of Derby" Awards recognise and celebrate outstanding contributions to the built environment in Derby. These awards highlight new buildings, conservation efforts, and improvements to the public spaces, parks, and streets of Derby.

We will also be handing out certificates for the David Ling Award. An award for schools and pupils in recognition for improving their schools setting or environment.

Join local reporter Zena Hawley as she chats with Derby Award Winning Historian Maxwell Craven. Hear the stories, experiences and passion behind Maxwell’s journey to becoming one of Derby’s leading historians, and discover what Derby means to him.

Join us for an evening of fun, drinks and laughter as we discover who the real eggheads are within the room! There will be prizes to be won, so get your thinking caps on and don’t miss out.

An Audience With - Robin Wood & Zena Hawley

As we celebrate 50 years of Derby becoming a city, Robin Wood will take us back to some memorable moments in Derby’s history, including the preparations for the Royal visit and the opening of the Derby Assembly Rooms.

Expect an evening of laughter and memories as we take a walk down memory lane. And please bring along your own memories, photographs and memorabilia to share.
